Old Business
Invitational Update – Per Joanna Chew, Linda Neal will be in charge of raffle prizes, with Sheryl Tamietti assisting. The next meeting of the Invitational Committee is meeting later this week and there will be more to report next month.
Charity Day Recipient – Cindy Hamilton reported that she has researched charities that benefit Solano County cancer patients and proposed that the American Cancer Society in Solano County be named as the charity for this year. According to her information 60% of the money received stays in the County, 40% goes to national but approximately 35% of that comes back for research activities. The Board approved naming American Cancer Society as the charity this year.
Per Diane Thompson, we should continue collecting toiletries from our members and they can be donated to the homeless shelter in Fairfield or Vacaville.
New Member Mixer – Will be held on February 10 and the group will buy lunch for the new members who include Ethel Richardson, Babette Dunlop, Linda Brooks, Carol Deitrich, Jill Wilson, Pat Spencer and Jean Bussanick.
Umpqua Bank Account – Joanna Chew opened the new invitational account at Umpqua and deposited $100 personally to get the account set up. The Bank of the West account will be closed by Sarah Johnson and funds will be deposited into the Umpqua account at which time Joanna will be reimbursed. Joanna Chew and Diane Thompson will be signers on the new account.
New Business
Treasurer’s Report – Melody Scott reported that $8025 is budgeted for the upcoming year, with golf balls being a major expense (around $2,500). The budget is basically the same as for last year. There are some golf balls left over and Jane Sullivan will be taking a count so we know how many to order. There was discussion about what balls to order and Ann Gemmer and Pat will look into that and report back next meeting. By vote of the Board, the budget was approved.
18 Hole/Niner Mixer – Optional breakfast will be served for $8.00 per person. Carol Massier is the new captain for the niners. Jane Sullivan will plan the game. It was requested that most of the Tuesday games be ones that can be posted. Joanna Chew asked that the rules for the upcoming March games be provided.
Team Play – Missy Marshall is in charge of North Bay Team play this year. Sign-up sheets are ready.
Open Day – Per Judy Blohm, we have only received invitations to Monterey Peninsula and Madiera so far as well as the 18-59er WGANC tournament.
Did You Know? Joanna requested again that 18 hole members provide interesting facts about themselves for sharing.
WGANC Meeting – Scheduled for February 11 at Blackhawk. Cindy Hamilton has agreed to drive and those attending will meet in the lower parking lot at 7:30 a.m.
Question and Answer
Betsy Martin asked if the group is still handling the money for the invitational. Since this is now a club sponsored event, the club should be involved and will have to pay if we run short.
Ann Gemmer is looking for the folder for Guest Days.
Meeting was adjourned at 3:10 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Lynne Waslohn Secretary
